In a post on his RawWorkflow.com forums, Michael Tapes indicated that he had signed a consultancy agreement with Pixmantec ApS, maker of RawShooter essentials 2005, RAW conversion software that is a direct competitor of Phase One‘s Capture One. He said: “While neither Pixmantec or Phase One have asked me to stop selling Capture One software, I have made a personal decision to no longer sell the Capture One product.”
In his post, Michael said: Last week I signed a consultancy agreement with Pixmantec ApS, maker of RawShooter essentials 2005, RAW conversion software that is competitive with Capture One.
While neither Pixmantec or Phase One have asked me to stop selling Capture One software, I have made a personal decision to no longer sell the Capture One product.
As a result of these decisions and in conjunction with the new format of the RawWorkflow.com site that will be visible shortly, I have changed the Capture One aspect of our support forums such that existing forums have been locked, but remain available for search and re-reading of things that might have been of interest to our members.
I have established this “supplimental” forum for those Capture One users who might still feel at home here with the Capture One community. While I will monitor the forum, I will no longer be on top of things as I was in the past, and I would suggest that serious issues be posted at the Phase One support forum, or that a support case be issued. All Capture One sales can be made at your local dealer or directly from the Phase One website (www.PhaseOne.com).
I have enjoyed my time with Phase One and am glad that I was able to contribute to the product and the Capture One community. I equally look forward to my new alliance with my former co-workers.
I hope that this new forum is helpful, but should no longer be thought of as an official Phase One support site. Thanks to all of you for your loyalty, patience, and help. It has been rewarding and a great ride.
