Russell Preston Brown reports from Australia that his web site, www.russellbrown.com was taken down by his ISP because of issues over the enormous band-width his site generates. In an email message received today, Russell said: “I’ll try and resolve it when I return tomorrow.”

I would be tempted to file this under “people with way too much time on their hands” except that I’ve been to all of the sites, and well, ok–I will admit to being intrigued. It seems that Photoshop has fostered a subculture of Photoshop contest junkies on the web. And they sure seem to have fun–even though when they win, they don’t win anything (except higher rankings and the respect of their peers).

There are a lot of really good web sites out there who’s primary focus is digital imaging. But one of the best from the standpoint of providing useful and understandable articles is The Luminous Landscape offered by Michael Reichmann.
Michael is not shy–he says of his web site: “The Luminous Landscape, the web’s most comprehensive site devoted to the art of landscape, nature and documentary photography using digital as well as traditional image processing techniques.”
