After years of fielding questions at seminars from Photoshop users, Dave Cross realized there was a lot of common ground: there were many questions that were indeed “frequently asked.” In addition, most questions seemed to start with “How come I can’t….” “How do I….” or “Why won’t the (fill in the blank) tool work?”
This book addresses the most common problems and questions in Photoshop by both providing answers to the most frequently asked questions, and outlining strategies that can help you avoid problems in the first place.

Bruce would be too self-effacing to mention this (his publisher isn’t) but today on Amazon, Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS2 was #1 in the Computer & Internet category and an impressive #93 of all books on Amazon.com’s sales rank overall.
While being #1 in the Computer & Internet category is in itself impressive, for a computer industry book-let alone a book directed to digital photographers-to break the top 100 books on Amazon.com really is a feat.

Martin Evening called from London to say that the first 2000 copies of his new book, Photoshop CS2 for Photographers are on the way to the US. So early buyers should be receiving their copies soon. He also pointed out an odd situation in regard to his book’s listing on Amazon.com.
It seems Amazon has screwed up the book title on it’s page and re-named it How to Cheat in Photoshop. See the screen capture below.

At the recent Adobe ideas conference in New York City, photographer Chris Rainier gave a session about a recent book project, ANCIENT MARKS: The Sacred Origins of Tattoos and Body Marking. Part of the session was about the unusual manner in which the book evolved, was produced and finally published.
The ANCIENT MARKS book and Exhibition explore the intrinsic connection between mankind’s culture and the old tradition of marking the human body dating back two thousand years, with tattoos and scarification as a form of initiation, beauty, and highly ritualized ornamentation.

Book Review: Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS by Bruce Fraser
Having read Out of Gamut: Calibrating Camera Raw in Photoshop CS offsite on Creative Pro offsite back in May and then seeing subsequent rumblings that this information was from a new Real World book, I was excited about Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS offsite, by Bruce Fraser, before it was even printed. The Real World offsite series of books—of which I’ve read several—focuses on getting the job done; the tagline to these books is “industrial-strength production techniques.” By focusing on getting the task done, these books show and tell what you need to know to create a productive workflow.
