I know when comparing what the movie people did to her books..... There have been times when I'd get so upset to stuff the didn't have to leave out, and then the lines they gave to one person when in the books someone else (that was in that same scene in the movie) was supposed to have said, just didn't make sense to me... ok.. just scenes they intentionally changed or just messed up from the books... open story plots that our family members, who have never read the books, have to ask US "what was up in that part?"??? made me just want to pull my hair out. Some parts just won't make any sense to those who have not read the books themselves... BUT!!! I had to finally take a step back and say that if it was not for the movie people deciding to make a movie in the first place, I may never have ever picked up the first book to read it in the first place. I have to give credit where credit is due.

A friend of mine, that I met here on these boards... eldarobetie mentioned it like this to me.... I needed to see both versions as an entitity of their own. Just like the books for what they are and then watch the movies for what they are...

I have been reading your new Camera RAW book. I still struggle with whether or not to convert to DNG. My only reason for putting my files on my BU HD (where I store them) as NEFs is that on a rare occasion, and it is rare, I like to use NX2. I debate whether or not it is worth the space to go with DNGs with imbedded NEFs. As a 73 yr. old amateur, I don't care about the long-range issue. However, and this is my concern, I do care very much about the quality of my editing. My question becomes, will a DNG file enable me to do a "better" job of editing? Would it be time and energy and quality effective for a true non-techy who would still like to end up with a quality image? Thanks

A lopsided wine glass, in use, seems a fitting image. I say congratulations, too! Schewe and Evening are favorite teachers and I am looking forward to reading this collaboration. Happy New Year.

Congratulations Jeff - I know just how painful it can be - and how glorious it feels to be done.

I look forward to reading it.
