Think you have read and seen all there is to know about the quick selection tool and Refine Edge? Then check out this movie tutorial by Martin Evening in which he reveals some hidden tips for working with the quick selection tool. Plus, if you thought Refine Edge was simply intended for modifying selections, Martin shows you how refine Edge can be used to modify a layer mask in situ, which is far more useful than having to just guess which slider settings to use when modifying a selection.

On the Road to Boston

I’m leaving, on a jet plane… don’t know when I’ll be back again.

Well, actually, I should get home Friday night as long as ORD (O’Hare Airport) doesn’t get closed due to weather…seems to happen a lot in the spring.

So, I’ll be at Photoshop World this week. If you haven’t already registered, it’s too late-it’s sold out. I’ll be pretty busy. I’ll be at the mini Epson Print Academy Tuesday afternoon as well as stopping in to the Photoshop Soup 2 Nuts precon events.

On Wednesday I’ll be speaking from the Peachpit booth in the Tech Expo-I’ve committed to carry on Bruce Fraser’s Real World Camera Raw book so Peachpit wants me to talk at the booth. I also have two general sessions; Thursday at 11:00a-12:00p Lightroom to Photoshop to Lightroom for Printing, and Friday at 10:45a-11:45a In Search of the Perfect B&W Print.

If I get the chance, I’ll try to post a story or two from the event. See ya in Boston!
