Adobe sees results at high end of outlook

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) - Adobe Systems Inc. late Tuesday said its expects its quarterly results to come in at the high end of its previously issued outlook on continued strength for its digital document and design software.
Adobe (ADBE: 32.88, +0.89, +2.8%) also said it still expects to close its planned $3 billion acquisition of Macromedia Inc. (MACR: 44.91, +1.24, +2.8%) in late November or December following regulatory approval in Europe. That deal recently won U.S. antitrust clearance. See earlier related story.
After the close of trade, San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe said it was seeing strong demand for both its nearly ubiquitous Acrobat software used to publish and share electronic documents and its Creative Suite design software.
Adobe’s financial outlook, issued last month, called for the company to earn 27 cents to 29 cents a share on revenue of $490 million to $510 million, representing growth of 14% to 19%.
