Canon releases firmware updates for EOS-1Ds & 1D Mark II Cameras

Canon releases firmware updates for EOS-1Ds & 1D Mark II DSLR Cameras. The EOS-1D Mark II DSLR firmare is now at version 1.2.4 while the EOS-1Ds Mark II DSLR has been updated to version 1.1.4.

The firmware updates asddress the following issues:

EOS-1D Mark II Firmware Update Version 1.2.4

This firmware update (version 1.2.4) includes the following improvements:

1. Fix the phenomenon of file number errors that occurred when shooting bulb exposures.
2. Improves reliability in communication when using some CF cards.

Note for users of the Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1/E1A:
The camers’s WFT-E1/E1A settings will be initialized after the firmware is updated. Please re-set them after the update.

This firmware update applies to cameras with firmware version up to 1.2.3 installed. If your camera’s firmware is already version 1.2.4, it is not necessary to perform this update.

EOS-1Ds Mark II Firmware Update Version 1.1.4

This firmware update (version 1.1.4) includes the following improvements:

1. Fix the phenomenon of horizontal line noise appearing when P.Fn-21 is set to ON.
2. Fix the phenomenon of file number errors that occurred when shooting bulb exposures.
3. Improves reliability in communication when using some CF cards.

Note for users of the Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1/E1A:
The camers’s WFT-E1/E1A settings will be initialized after the firmware is updated. Please re-set them after the update.
This firmware update applies to cameras with firmware version up to 1.1.3 installed. If your camera’s firmware is already version 1.1.4, it is not necessary to perform this update.
