Nice interview.
You keep hinting at the image that used to be in the print dialogue box. How about showing it, or at least tell us what it was?

Peter. . .

Not a problem doode. . .glad you like PSN and that aside from the fatter media like the interview and the Russell movie, PSN is faster even on a dialup.

I feel your pain when I travel-having to use dialup after being used to fat pipes is a real come down. That's why I tend to look for hotels and motels that advertise "Free Highspeed Internet Access".

Y'know what, Jeff? You're right. I was wrong and I apologize for spouting off. It's just that the other articles on this printer are so tempting, I guess I got frustrated. My "want bumps" broke out and affected my brain chemistry.

PSN is generally quite fast, even at my dial-up speed which is a hideous 20 kbps. Worse, I have no choice in this matter. No broadband available.

Again, sorry.

Peter

Excellent interview. I found there was a lot of very useful information pertaining to the driver & Epson's attitude towards photography. Digital split toning would be great along with a ninth ink. This gives me hope.

On the downside: Do we really need to listen to the 'wine intro'. I think not - dull & boring. His credentials are already proven. Greg's & your interest in wine is another issue and it's self indulgent to include it in the interview.

Hey, what can I say. ..it's a media rich, broadband world out there. . .get some fat pipes and join the 21st century. . .

On a more serious note, I think even dialup customers will find PhotoshopNews to be a pretty fast site for most things. . .the code is pretty efficient and the backend server is very fast. Many of the stories are pure text which should be very fast. We go through a lot of trouble to optimize images to be small and load as thumbnails where there are larger images that can be clicked.

So, while in general, I think PSN fills the bill even for dialup readers, some things are simply too rich in media to be passed up. The Greg Gorman story about the interview will give a flavor about Greg and what he thinks about the new printers even if you don't listen to the whole thing.

As far as thanking PSN for leaving out dialup customers, well you can always ask for a refund ya know. It's not like anybody is holding a gun to your head to come to PhotoshopNews. Sorry to have upset ya dooode.

Well, gee thanks! Us dial-up users are, like, totally stoked with the possibility of a twenty meg download.

We ARE in the majority, you know. Thanks for leaving us out.
