Now live: The Adobe Photographers Directory

Connects Pro Photographers With Creative Community.
The previously announced Adobe Photographers Directory is now live. Available directly from within Adobe Bridge as well as from the web site, the Adobe Photographers Directory allows graphics pros to find a pro photographer easily. The Adobe Photographers Directory is initially available in North America and over time will be extended to include photographers from other markets.
“Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite have brought the digital image into the heart of creative workflows as our customers deliver compelling content to print media, the Web and emerging mobile platforms,” said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Digital Imaging and Digital Video at Adobe. “When creative professionals are searching for that perfect photograph that reflects their vision, they should be able to find it within the tools they rely on most. That’s our goal with this directory.”

From the APD FAQ Page:
What is the Adobe Photographers Directory?
Adobe understands the important role photographers play in the creative process. To help facilitate the creative partnership, Adobe has announced that it will be creating a professional photographers directory that will be available via the Adobe Creative Suite 2 products announced on April 4th. The Adobe Photographers Directory will also be available on Adobe.com and Adobe Studio. Adobe’s goal is to develop a comprehensive and international directory of top professional photographers and provide a conduit to connect professional photographers to its creative professional customers.
When will the directory be available?
The North American directory will launch at the same time the CS2 products ship. While the directory is not yet available in all regions, Adobe will be working closely with professional photography associations in key markets to build a comprehensive worldwide resource for the creative community.
How do I join the directory?
In order to ensure that the photographers listed in the Adobe Photographers Directory are professional photographers, Adobe will be initially working with professional photography associations in North America, Europe, and Japan. Initially, the Adobe Photographers Directory membership will be limited to the members of participating associations. Adobe will be adding support for additional organizations as new associations are identified and relationships are developed.
Will Adobe be expanding its directory to include professional photographers that are not affiliated with an organization?
The mission of the Adobe Photographers Directory is to create a comprehensive listing of professional photographers from around the world, and we are just now starting this process. Rather than opening up the directory to anyone who wants to go through the registration process, Adobe has decided to initially work with the key professional associations that vet members as part of their process. Adobe is aware that there are many photographers who are not members of a professional association; therefore we will also be working with the industry to find ways to create a directory that truly reflects the composition of the professional photography community.
