Opening music and video
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome Bruce Chizen

It’s great to have you all here,
Here are some of the leading thinkers
Today is a day of celebration to share ideas
Let’s celebrate the unique environment we are in
There are more than 60 million websites increasing at a rate of 1 million a month
75% of us use multi media simultaneously, surf the web, watch tv, listen to music
What brings order to chaos is your ideas
You decide what’s important
You have to use the power of great design for communication
You have to use that power to transform to turn something ordinary into something extraordinary
That’s the power of communication

Where do these ideas come from?
From the flow or zone
Cut to video
Hillman Curtis speaking of creativity -getting through bad design to uncover the answer, stumble upon the answer
Paula Scher - intuitive process, not a refiner - lot of garbage to get through but live for the moment when you get it
Back to Bruce

There are over 180 million mobile devices in US
Huge demand for the media that can use all the new devices.
Nokia offers art from Wegman for cell phones
There is a lot of active content. In Japan using cell phone you can navigate through the subway system - not just train but find where you are.
General trend to personalization - TIVO for example - and blogging.
Good design important to blogging
More targeted and richer media. Designers have another means for influence.
We are facing a reflection point in our industry

Using the internet and other content able to create once and present in any format
“Create once, publish anywhere”
Process more media without adding more people
The future is here - look around it is everywhere.
We’ve seen the rise of the multi-media creative professional
So the future is truly upon us
Cut to video - Robert Greenburg from Greenburg Associates
Technology isn’t just a bunch of nerds
A new type of creative director - multiple platforms . . .
Understands the new customer
Introducing Shantanu Narayen - President and COO of Adobe
We have been working hard to realize network publishing
Most important to hear from you - our customers
What do you need to fulfill your vision
You want to publish to different media

Cross media publishing important
Need for first class information structure
Changing economy business challenge
How can you help anticipate work flows - “have an eye for the invisible”
Focus on ideas - stay in the flow and not have tools in the way
Also want access to tools and stay in the flow
Seamlessly and effortlessly share ideas with clients
Control from inception to delivery

Cut to video
Fernando Music - Inspiration can be fleeting
Mark Bartlett
Divisions starting to blur and breakdown

Goal to morph application into background - invisible but more responsive
Pro photographer only wants to deal with photos
Juleanne is demoing new technology from Adobe Labs
This is an advance preview of new technology not current technology
Always looking for ways to make it easier for user

Juleanne takes a photo of Shantanu with a cell phone

Will Bridge “remember” files on removable media (CD/DVD and HD)?

Becky says hi Mel

The question from sm about whether Bridge can track files on removable media is *very* important, since storage on those removable media has become a necessity, not an option.
April 4th, 2005 at 11:04 am
Thanks for the live feed. The Suite looks super.

Bridge allows you to save the cache centrically or distributed (when possible). I have to admit I didn’t try the later on removable but it should work. I recall burning CDs and removing the cache files (since I didn’t want the other party to have em for obvious reasons at the time). You can use Centralized (that’s what I have set) and then export the cache when you burn a CD so they are on that media for a user.
