In addition to other various Easter Eggs, Photoshop has always had a primary “retail” splash screen as well as a “hidden” secret (well, not so much now) alternative or beta splash screen.

For versions .87 – 3.0, this alt screen was the same. Starting with version 4.0, an individual was selected to create the alt screen. I created the alt screen for Photoshop 5 & 5.5.
