Error “The application…unexpectedly quit…” (Mac)

Error “The application…unexpectedly quit…” after you authenticate the administrator password during installation (Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, or GoLive CS on Mac OS X v10.3)
Issue
After you authenticate the administrator password while installing Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe GoLive, the installer returns the error, “The application install {[product]} unexpectedly quit. The operating system and other applications have not been affected. Do you want to send a report to Apple?”
Solutions
Do one of the following:
Solution 1: Disable fonts, and then install Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive.
Disable system and local fonts, and then install Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive.
To disable system and local fonts:
1. Double-click the Font Book in the Applications folder.
2. In the Collection column, expand All Fonts.
3. Select Computer under All Fonts, and then select all fonts in the Font column.
4. Click Disable.
5. Select User under All Fonts, and then select all fonts in the Font column.
6. Click Disable.
7. If Classic Mac OS is listed under All Fonts, select it, select all fonts in the Font column, and then click Disable.
After disabling all fonts, install Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive. Once installation is complete, reenable the system and local fonts.
Note: If installation is successful after you’ve disabled fonts, you may have a damaged font on your system. For instructions on troubleshooting damaged fonts, see document 327791 , “Troubleshoot font problems (Mac OS X).”
Solution 2: Create a new administrator profile and then install Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive.
For instructions on creating a new administrator profile, see the Mac OS X online Help.
Note: Adobe Version Cue, a file management system integrated with Adobe Creative Suite applications, will not work if you install Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive from a new administrator profile.
Background information
Damaged fonts can cause the Photoshop, Illustrator, or GoLive installer to return an error. Creating a new administrator profile ensures that the installer doesn’t encounter damaged fonts or damaged third-party plug-ins.
